The Pixma Pro 100 does a fantastic job of printing also, but print size is limited to 13"x19". It's the best value in printers at $500. And, borders give the framers area to work with when matting without getting into the image area.
Intersting video Michael but be careful with using borderless as if you check you will see your print won’t be 10x15 anymore as Canon like epson magnifies the image a bit. The level of magnification is set in the printer settings but you can only reduce it but not prevent it. Hence it is alway better to not use borderless.

I want one! But < $ during COVID. I have the Pro 100, which is the best value in printers I've ever seen. It makes gallery-quality prints with ease. And, I print from 16-bit tif. files. For me, I find that Photoshop does a better job of managing color than does Canon.

Good afternoon from Las Vegas, Nevada (USA). I'm operating an iMac and just started using the Canon Pro 1000 (only a few days ago). My BW prints are coming out w a magenta cast. I followed your workflow and noticed when I change the color profile to ColorSync to manage, the actual paper profile under Photoshop Manages Color defaults to the printer drive. Not sure if this is causing the magenta cast. Have you had a magenta cast and if so did you correct and how? Much appreciated. I'm a documentary photographer and most of my printing was either darkroom or farmed out; just started printing my own.
I was talked into a canon pro100 now I wish I had the 1000 .. I’m not getting true bw ? Think the 1000 will be the difference ?
Agree with you on the printer but hate Bridge as it is an endless mess if you keep your assets on NAS.
